The Center of Wellness will be in full-swing during "Art is a Drag 2017" with . . .
Costumes, Candles & Coloring Books

and of course the most fabulous drag queen hostesses . . .

Starring ~ Eleanora Diamond & Tiffany Blue

The Center of Wellness is action packed during "Art is a Drag" on April 15, 6-9pm

The spirited Eleanora Diamond and talented Tiffany Blue will be holding court and signing autographs.

Tiffany Blue (AKA - Dennis Vedock, the owner/operator of DV Couture, LLC) will docent the costume exhibit. The exhibit features the famous 'Rainbow Peacock Ball Gown' from Tiffany's 'Art is a Drag' photoshoot and 'Blue Sequin Mermaid Gown'.

About the RAINBOW PEACOCK BALL GOWN ~

The base fabric of this gown is a stunning, sequined rainbow-peacock pattern with an accented train of rainbow feathers with an accompanying rainbow-feather collar.
I created this gown for my one-year drag anniversary which was in May of 2016.
It took about 25 hours to assemble the more-than 3,000 feathers of the train and collar alone.
This gown won best "creative presentation" for Tiffany Ross in the 2016 Ocala Pride Pageant.

The "Blue Sequin Mermaid Gown" will be a surprise for those attending the art portion of the "Art is a Drag" event. The gown was created with a blue and green designer sequin fabric. It has a high collar, long sleeves and is accented with a black sequin mermaid train. This dress was inspired by the fabulous Shady Zeineldine. Including the underlining this gown took 17 yards of fabric.

Costume designers view character-development as a personality made manifest through clothing, make-up, hair and accessories.

The job begins with research and it often includes collaboration with a director, actor or model. Preliminary sketches lead to final designs which are done in full color. They show the style, silhouette, textures, accessories and unique features of each costume.

Darin Cooper is an artist who has done costume renderings for various designers and production companies.

Cooper's exhibit at JTFA are renderings for costumes made specifically for Hardrive Productions, Inc. under the direction of Greg Brown and for Todrick Hall's new show "Straight Outta Oz"

Where were you born and raised? When did you move to where you are now?
My seed was planted in Casselberry Florida but I blossomed in Orlando

How did you get your drag name? Did you or do you have others?
My mother's name was Azalea.
My first drag name was Veronica Heathers. In the early 90s I started doing more of a club kid look and wore flowered headpieces.
Eventually I took to the name Chrysanthe Mum after my mother.

When and why was the first time you did drag? How was it?
My first time in full drag was for a talent show at city lights, and I did Dr. Frankenfurter from Rocky horror picture show. I was scared to death

What has been some of your career highlights?
I've had the privilege of playing some great characters for different events around Orlando throughout my drag career. The biggest highlight was last year I got to work the red carpet in New York City for the premiere of absolutely fabulous and me with my idols

Breaking boundaries, I've always pushed the envelope when it comes to modern culture and so glad to see it's so widely accepted now. I love using my art to help charities and try to be a positive role model for young people today

What is your biggest drag pet peeve (for yourself and others)?
No nails or hip pads, it just completes the look.

How has drag changed since you started and where do you see it heading?
Drag was a sub-culture of its own when I first started and now it widely accepted! The sky is the limit, I love seeing what young queens are doing with their looks!

Who are some of your drag inspirations?
Divine, Harvey Fierstein, Miss Sammy , Lypsinka
